Allowing children to discover the natural world fosters their wonder and human connection to the land. Global Forest Science connects with children locally and internationally through creative educational outreach initiatives such as:
World Wide Weather Kids
The
Worldwide Weather Program
is an educational program involving students and teachers around the world. Global Forest Science has provided state of the art weather monitoring equipment to 14 schools on 3 continents who share their data through the Global Forest Science's website.
Global Forest Science also sponsors school visits by scientists, hosts local field trips and conducts public seminars and discussions. Global Forest Science published its first children's book,
Forest Adventures with Bruni the Bear
by Dr. Reese Halter, in November 2000.
