Dr. David H. Ashton, Honorary Scientist at Global Forest Science, Passes Away

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - It is with great sadness we announce that Dr. David H. Ashton, Honorary Scientist at Global Forest Science, respected Botanical Environmentalist, Artist, Musician and Poet passed away on the 22nd of November, 2005 after a long a courageous fight.
Dr. Ashton was a pioneer ecologist who broke ground in the tallest eucalypt forest in Australia - the mighty Mt. Ash. Over the course of his 50 plus years in ecology he was a mentor to many postgraduate students and hundreds of undergraduates. His keen observations and unstinting commitment to furthering humanity's understanding of forest ecology will be forever remembered. His funeral is Monday the 28th of November in Surrey Hills, Victoria, Australia.
