Fourteen years ago, as a budding young scientist, I founded Global Forest Science. Since January 1998, Global Forest Science has been operating to support forest biological research and children's ecological education.
Today, Global Forest supports over 140 scientists from 29 Universities in 9 countries on 3 continents. Together, we are short circuiting ecological disasters, protecting fragile ecosystems, saving endangered species, discovering new species, pioneering scientific methods to gain knowledge about how trees and forests function, monitoring global climate change and working with First Peoples to preserve cultural knowledge and enhance economic and community stability. Global Forest Achievements
Our educational outreach programs encourage children locally and worldwide to embrace conservation, science, exploration and learning. GFAwesome is our exciting website which offers children an excellent chance to explore the wonders of nature, participate in indoor and outdoor activities, investigate worldwide weather and challenge scientists. Our free Kid's Club, GFAwesome, has an international membership of more than 5000 children from 36 countries, and growing.
We thank all of our Corporate, Foundation, government and individual sponsors for contributing to the conservation of the Earth's temperate forests. We look forward to further continued support and welcome long-term partnerships.
A multi-disciplinary approach at Global Forest Science proactively identifies environmental issues that impact forest conservation. We believe in sound sustainable forest management. Global Forest Science effects change by providing decision-makers with critical ecological information. Our results are achieved through the integration of science, business, and government.
